About Me

Some part of me always knew I'd be an educator, even from the time of eagerly bringing home outdated textbooks and teaching my stuffed animals as a child. I simply am a teacher.

Growing up in a musical family, music was always around me both in terms of teaching and performance. I saw the joy it brought to my mother's students as they entered our home on a weekly basis and witnessed the struggles, curiosities, and triumphs of new knowledge and skills.

I attended Henderson State University where I received my Bachelors of Music as well as a double minor in Dance and Spanish. After graduation, I was a substitute teacher for the Sulphur Springs ISD and later was offered a full time position with Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD where I taught K-5 general music for four and a half years.

My graduate studies have been through Texas A&M University-Commerce and are focused on elementary music education. For my full resume, click the PDF link.
